The Pine Mountain Trail Conference is excited to announce our first annual Trail race that will be held on the Little Shepherd Trail. Very cool medals for all finishers. This race will have electronic B-tag timing, and professional race management by We Run Events. This will be a challenging race that will start off at the parking lot just off US 119 in Whitesburg, KY. on top of Pine Mountain and travel 13.1 miles on a paved single-lane trail along the little shepherd trail to Kingdom Come State Park. Kingdom Come State Park is the crowning jewel in the crest of Pine Mountain. Named after the popular Civil War novel, “The Little Shepherd of Kingdom Come,” by Kentucky author John Fox Jr., the park preserves 1,283 acres of unspoiled wilderness. Along your way you will see some of the most extraordinary rock formations in the state featured at this park, sections of expanded 360-degree views of the most beautiful forest that Eastern Kentucky and Southwest Virginia have to offer. If you think you have what it takes to master this mountain and you like adventures, than this is the race for you!!! All who enter will receive a nice tech. T-Shirt and all those that have the determination to finish will receive a custom finisher medal. Awards will be given to the over all Male & Female winner and 1st, 2nd & 3rd place Male & Female in their age groups.
This race will finish in a different location than the start!!! There will be transportation to get you back to the start for all those who need it!!!
